I’m a Muslim psychologist and psychotherapist who has spent many years reading research, listening to people’s stories, and sitting with their pain, worries, and hopes. Again and again, I’ve seen how many Muslims and people from minority backgrounds hesitate to seek help because they fear their faith, culture, or values will be not be understood or accepted. I work integratively, tailoring therapy to uniquely fit into you and your circumstances. This is always person-centred, and with elements of psychodynamic theory - understanding how your past has shaped your presence and empowering you to change that. Some clients want Islam explicitly brought into the room, whilst others just want it quietly acknowledged as part of them. My aim is to offer a space where you can bring your whole self, deen, doubts, culture and all, without having to justify or edit who you are. Clients often tell me they feel seen, respected, and able to speak openly in a way they haven’t experienced before.

About

Faith-aware counselling centre in Guildford and Manchester. Islamic-integrated or secular therapy, in English and Arabic, online and in person. Teenagers 15+ and adults.

Information

At Safa & Serenity we understand how daunting starting therapy can feel. Many of our clients have told us they were anxious about beginning, or felt misunderstood or judged in previous experiences. We've created a space where you can feel safe, accepted and understood from the first conversation.

Our team, led by experienced psychologists and qualified therapists, draws on person-centred, psychodynamic and psychological approaches. We believe the relationship between client and therapist is fundamental to healing, and we take care to respect your values, identity and lived experience.

We understand that faith can matter in healing. Whether you want therapy that incorporates Islamic principles, general respect for your faith, or a more secular approach, we provide culturally sensitive care that honours your values. We meet you where you are and never impose beliefs or practices.
